Marbled Valentine Hearts

Marbled Valentine Hearts

It’s a lovely time of the year to make hearts! For this activity, we will be making heart-shaped valentines. We will be using shaving cream and paint to create a marbled effect on the hearts. After finishing, let the valentines dry for approximately 20 minutes, then it’ll be ready for delivery!

Materials List

  • Foam shaving cream
  • Paint (pink, red, purple)
  • Small paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Construction paper (pink and white)
  • Popsicle stick or butter knife
  • Paper towels

  1. Take a piece of pink construction paper and cut a heart shape out. Be sure the shape is slightly smaller than the paper plate. (1:13)
  2. Repeat step 2 with white construction paper. (1:45)
  3. Add a thick layer of shaving cream onto the paper plate. Smooth and even out the cream using a popsicle stick. (2:28)
  4. Add pink, red, and purple paint onto the shaving cream by creating fun designs. (3:01)
  5. Lay one of the paper hearts on top of the paint and press it down lightly. When complete, place the paper heart down with the paint side up. (4:05)
  6. Repeat step 5 with the second paper heart. (4:43)
  7. Take a popsicle stick to scrape the shaving cream off of hearts to make a marbled effect. (5:00)
