Storm Clouds in a Jar

Description

For this activity, we will be exploring how rain falls from heavy clouds in an experiment using just shaving cream, blue food coloring, water and a clear jar.  Explore the weather with this great science activity and see how the rain falls and the fun never stops!

Materials List

  • Large clear jar or cup filled almost to the top with water
  • Foam shaving cream
  • Blue food coloring

Steps

  1. Add shaving cream to the top of the water in the jar (0:36)
  2. Add food coloring to the shaving cream “cloud” (at least 16 drops or so) (1:17)
